The Police are your first contact for an Emergency in the mountains.
The Police are responsible for coordinating all Mountain Rescue incidents throughout the UK. North Wales Police have taken an active approach to help prevent mountain accidents under their responsibility to 'protect life and property' and along with Snowdonia National Park are one of the original members of the MountainSafe partnership.
North Wales Police Officers meet regularly with Snowdonia National Park Officers and other members of the MountainSafe partnership in order to prepare strategic media releases to coincide with times of the year where there are higher numbers of mountain incidents.
